What is Marijuana Hashish?

Hash is derived from the cannabis plant. Unlike marijuana, which is made up of buds and leaves, compressed resin glands called "trichomes" are used to make this drug. Hash is also known as "hish", "kif", "charas", and "nup". It can appear hard or have a paste-like consistency.

Hash can be smoked with a water pipe, rolled with tobacco and smoked, or baked into other foods and eaten. The drug may be green, brown, or golden in color. It is also available in an oil, which has a sticky consistency and may be gold or a deep black color.

Causes of Hash Addiction

When a person ingests "kif," they feel relaxed and experience a feeling of mild euphoria. The user enjoys the effect they get and continues doing so to feel good again. Over time, they find it more difficult to feel good without using the drug, and using becomes a regular part of their lives. Rather than being physically addictive, this drug produces a psychological dependency.

Hashish Rehabilitation Assessment ImageWhen you reach out to a hash rehab facility for help, the first step in the process is for staff members to assess your condition and work up a treatment plan for you. The treatment program will involve the addict looking at his or her life to figure out why they started using "hish." Then they can find other ways to feel good without using it.

Why Quit Using Hash? Some Good Reasons:

  • Long-term use of hash causes hormone levels to drop in men and women.
  • The person who uses "keef" regularly is unable to deal with difficult thoughts, feelings, or situations.
  • Frequent use takes away the user's motivation.
  • Lung damage may result from using it long-term.
